Heras, the European market leader in perimeter protection, is opening an office in the Freightway building at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. This will enable Heras to further optimise the collaboration with the airport. Heras, originally from the Dutch province of Brabant, is responsible for the total management of the periphery of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. They supply, install and maintain all the fences, gates and security systems that separate the public and secured areas. Heras does this both landside and airside.
Math Rietrae, Country Manager Netherlands: ‘Heras and Schiphol have been working together for more than thirty years. While the collaboration initially involved incidental projects, today Heras is responsible for the entire airport perimeter. This makes it increasingly important for Heras to be located close to the centre of these activities. Opening an office at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol will enable us to operate more efficiently and respond quicker to requests and developments. We’re now also sharing a building with contractors who regularly work with us on these projects. This makes it easier to consult with each other and to drop by if we have any immediate questions.’
The security of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol must be guaranteed 24/7. This demands partners who work effectively together and have specialised expertise in the security field. They must also be flexible and think in terms of solutions. ‘Reliability, expertise and commitment are extremely important in this regard,’ says Rietrae. ‘Thanks to our many years of experience at the airport, we know precisely what is involved to ensure optimum security. The collaboration with Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is outstanding, ensuring that all contractors work together effectively, safely and harmoniously.’
Since 1952, Heras has grown from a small Dutch family-owned company specialising in the production of fencing to an international end-to-end supplier of perimeter protection. Heras is part of CRH and currently operates in 12 countries and employs 1100 employees. The company supplies fencing, entrance control and detection products. Heras also provides project management, system integration and installation, service and maintenance capabilities for perimeter protection throughout Europe.
